Wondering Wildlings
About me:

As a parent to one child in primary school and another who is home educated at the secondary level, I bring a unique, hands-on understanding of both mainstream and alternative education paths. Before starting Wondering Wildlings, I spent ten years working as a primary school teacher, supporting children and families across a range of settings. A few years ago, I made the decision to leave teaching as I knew it and take my children on a world adventure. We travelled across the globe, to multiple destinations for six months and that journey inspired a new direction that led to the creation of Wondering Wildlings.

Since stepping out of the traditional classroom, I've continued to work closely with students both face-to-face and virtually, offering holistic support that places mental health and emotional wellbeing at the heart of learning. I have a particular passion and depth of experience in supporting neurodivergent learners and helping families navigate their unique educational journeys.

Alongside working with individual families, I also work in a consultancy role with schools and home education communities, offering training, workshops, resources and guidance to help both parents and educators create environments where children can truly thrive.
A little more about what Wondering Wildlings provides:

Mental Health Workshops

As part of my work, I offer a series of mental health workshops designed for both parents and educators within school and home education communities. These workshops provide practical tools, knowledge, and confidence to help adults better understand and support children's emotional wellbeing. Currently, I run six core workshops focused on key areas many families navigate:
- Managing stress and anxiety
- Body image and body positivity
- Building resilience and inner strength
- Understanding hormones and periods
- Developing self-trust and confidence
- Friendships, relationships and boundaries

All workshops are grounded in real-life experience and professional insight, with an emphasis on creating safe, supportive spaces for learning and open communication. Due to requests and demand, these workshops can also be tailored and made available for children.

Home Education
Secondly, another element of Wondering Wildlings is to support families who enjoy a slightly different approach to learning: home education. I have put together some educational courses and resources to get families started and I offer 1-1 consultations (locally and digitally) to help guide and support you on your educational journey.

We have three courses:

-
Year 1 (ages 4 - 6) = includes Math, Writing and Topic.
-
Year 2 (ages 6 - 8) = includes Math, Writing and Topic.
-
Topic (ages 4 - 11) = includes a large variety of topics.

Each course has 40+ weeks worth of lesson plans and resources. You can find out more by visiting 'Home Education'.

Tuition

I also provide 1 to 1, paired, and group tuition for children, whether they are home-educated, attend school settings, or come from any other educational background and experience. Each lesson is carefully tailored to your child’s unique needs and goals, whether that’s academic progress, emotional understanding, or personal development. As a kind, thoughtful, and attentive teacher, I listen closely and support each child with patience and encouragement. My approach is holistic, meaning that alongside learning, I focus on nurturing your child’s mental health, confidence, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

Please note that tuition is often fully booked, but I maintain a waiting list that takes your availability into account. If a regular slot is to become available, I will get in touch to offer it to you. I recommend getting in touch early to secure a place on the waiting list and increase your chances of booking tuition sessions at times that suit you.
