Tuition 

I offer 1-to-1, paired, and small group tuition for children from a wide range of educational backgrounds. This includes children who attend school, those who are home-educated, and children who may be transitioning between settings or need additional, individualised support. With almost 20 years of tutoring experience and over a decade working as a full-time, in-school teacher, I bring both depth of knowledge and a strong understanding of how children learn, grow, and develop over time.

My experience in school settings means I am very familiar with curriculum expectations, assessment, and the pressures children can face within formal education. At the same time, my long-standing work with home-educated families has given me a flexible, creative approach that values curiosity, autonomy, and learning at a child’s own pace. I am confident working with children who thrive within structure, as well as those who need something different from a traditional classroom experience.

Every tuition session is carefully tailored to your child as an individual. While academic progress is important, it is never viewed in isolation. I take time to understand your child’s strengths, interests, challenges, and emotional needs, and lessons are shaped around clear goals that may include confidence-building, emotional understanding, resilience, or re-engagement with learning. For many children, feeling safe, seen, and understood is the key to unlocking progress.

As a kind, thoughtful, and attentive teacher, I work at your child’s pace, listening closely and responding with patience and encouragement. My approach is holistic and child-centred, recognising that wellbeing, self-esteem, and mental health play a vital role in learning. I place strong emphasis on nurturing the whole child — supporting not only academic development, but also confidence, emotional regulation, and a positive sense of self.

Tuition is often fully booked, but I do maintain a waiting list which takes your availability into account. If a suitable regular slot becomes available, I will contact you to offer it to you. I recommend getting in touch as early as possible to join the waiting list and increase your chances of securing tuition sessions at times that work for your family.
