Our Math and Writing courses are centered around EPIC lesson plans. These are organised into four key sections: Explain, Practise, Independent and Consolidation (EPIC). During the explanation stage, you will be explaining and introducing the lesson's focus to your child; practise allows you and your child to practise the concept together; independent is the opportunity for your child to apply what they have learned on their own and consolidation is a time for you both to reflect upon what was learned in the lesson.

Our topic course is organised in a similar way. We have a whole array of exciting topics to teach your child: including: mental health, oceans and plastic, space, animals, dinosaurs and more! We do not teach subjects such as art, geography, history and science individually. Instead we prefer to teach these subjects through topics. For example: you might spend two weeks learning all about animals and their groupings (science); then the next topic may be history based (e.g. dinosaurs); followed by oceans (geography). The topic lessons plans are organised into three sections: explain, activity and consolidation. As above, presentations, lesson plans and resources are all supplied.

Our topic lessons are also suitable for older children with adaptations, extensions and challenge activities where needed. Why? I have two children at home and being able to teach them both the same topics while we home educate is beneficial for them and me. I know there are many families home educating multiple children so I hope you find this aspect of our topic course as helpful as I do.
